Materials: Karndean Distressed Oak, Decka Plank Maine oiled engineered timber, Abingdon carpets, Stairrods Premier Trims, UZIN liquid waterproof surface membrane and smoothing compound.
The Cornish Flooring team transformed the entire ground floor of this renovated cottage. Careful consideration and consultation was required as the entrance and hallway required leveling and then sub floor preparation for the underfloor heating, prior to installation of Maine Decka Plank – a 19mm engineered timber, resulting in a high end finish that looks traditional and combines a warm authentic mix of tones adding an extra special quality feel underfoot. This engineered flooring was required to look smart and traditional, but also be compatible with underfloor heating. For the kitchen/dining space the client chose to transition visually selecting the contemporary Kardean Distress Oak Grey LVT – this luxury vinyl flooring adds extra light to this space. Equally important is the durability factor – these floors are hardwearing, hygienic, and waterproof – so easy to keep clean, which is essential when you own dogs!
The finishing touch to this aesthetically pleasing property was to fit a luxurious Abingdon warm grey carpet, leading up throughout the staircase, contrasting textures and colours with the wood & glass materials used for the bannisters and balustrades.
